Things Heat Up at Rally On The Rocks

9 05 2013

MESA, AZ – May 8, 2013 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – Appropriately enough, the extended family of the UTV community gathers in Moab, Utah, the Wednesday after Mother’s Day for the annual Rally On The Rocks. The family-oriented event runs Thursday-Saturday, May 15-18 and features some of the most scenic touring in the world… not to mention some of the most challenging slick rock terrain to be found anywhere. An ice cream social, concession stands, vendor midway, bonfires and even a drive-in movie night ensure that there is something for everyone.

“DragonFire is honored to be able to share the good times with friends and families at the Rally On The Rocks,” says social media manager Chris Moore. “We are proud to be the presenting sponsor of DragonFire Movie Night as well.” Rally goers are encouraged to join DragonFire and the editors from MotoUSA.com for a drive-in style movie shown on a massive outdoor movie screen starting at dusk on Thursday night.

“We want people to see that DragonFire is big-time so we are taking to the big screen,” jokes Chris. “Seriously, this will give us an opportunity to mention our Facebook Photo Contest for Rally participants. We are also doing a drawing for a DragonFire by Vance & Hines Dual Exhaust system and some other exciting give-aways in conjunction with the MotoUSA team. Movie night will start with a DragonFire/MotoUSA short, followed by a feature-length action movie.

DragonFire’s Facebook contest winner will be announced at the DragonFire display on Friday, May 17 at 8 pm. “Simply get a free DragonFire contingency sticker, put it on your UTV and then snap a shot of it while on the trail at Rally On The Rocks. Post the photo to DragonFire’s Facebook page and the image with the most “Likes” and “Shares” will win a DragonFire Quick-Release Steering Wheel Kit.”

Speaking of the trails, DragonFire and the MotoUSA film crew will be out and about each day. For a chance to see DragonFire’s RockSolid XP 4 that appeared on the Destination Polaris TV show in action, check them out on these trails:

DragonFire Racing Ready To Fill The Void In Sand Hollow!

16 04 2013

WORCS Round #4 Blows Into Hurricane, Utah

MESA, AZ – April 16, 2013 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – After a tough start to the season, Team DragonFire is ready fill the void on the trophy shelf as Round #4 of the WORCS UTV series blows into Sand Hollow in Hurricane, Utah this weekend. Make that more than ready!

130416-DragonFire-Wheel-Damage-RZR

“What else can possibly go wrong,” shrugs DragonFire marketing man Chris Moore. “Flooding at round #1, a fluke mechanical failure on the parade lap at round #2 and ripping the front wheel completely off in round #3… time for the team to show what we can do when we are not snake-bit!”

After three tough outings, DragonFire-sponsored Pro Ken Benson agrees that things can only get better from this point on. “I understand it is all part of racing, but enough is enough,” says Benson. “The good news is that we had plenty of time to repair the RZR 900 XP after ripping the front wheel off at Lake Havasu and everything is totally dialed-in for the conditions at Sand Hollow,” adds the eternal optimist.

“Sometimes you feel the heat… sometimes you just get burned,” says DragonFire’s sales manager Brice Ginn. He only made it through two laps on the tough Havasu track before getting T-boned by another vehicle which effectively ended his day with a DNF. Even with this mishap Ginn is still 11th in the points for the SxS Production 850 class. Coincidentally Benson is also sitting in 11th for the Pro Production class. This time out, both Brice and Ken Benson are ready to blow away the competition in Hurricane, Utah.

130416-DragonFire-Royal-Purple_Benson-RZR

Team DragonFire thanks their sponsors for sticking with us despite the string of bad luck. “Thanks to CP-Carillo, Dirty Dawg Performance, Elka, Gates belts, HiPer wheels, ITP tires, our newest sponsor Royal Purple and Vance & Hines,” concludes Ginn.

9 04 2013

“Project X” Build X Three

MESA, AZ – April 9, 2013 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – Time to tune in to see the latest project from DragonFire. After a brief hiatus, Destination Polaris is back on the air with a new network, new destinations and new Project X builds, including the third in a series from DragonFire. Not to spoil the surprise, but we can say the third time is a charm for DragonFire, so be prepared for anything!

DragonFire-ProjectX-2013

“We unveiled the RacePace competition-oriented product line two years ago on Destination Polaris,” says National Sales Manager Brice Ginn. “Last season, the pieces of the RockSolid trail capable components came out and now for Project X3, we are going in an all new direction.” While he won’t spoil the surprise before the DragonFire episode airs in early June, Brice does hint that the new vehicle is unlike anything they have ever tackled before. Also unlike years past, many more viewers will be able to see the results of DragonFire’s handiwork this season.

Starting this past weekend, Destination Polaris can now be seen on Fox Sports Arizona, Fox Sports Detroit, Fox Sports Florida, Fox Sports Midwest, Fox Sports North, Fox Sports Ohio, Fox Sports Oklahoma, Fox Sports South, Fox Sports Southwest, Fox Sports West, Fox Sports Wisconsin and MSG Plus. “We’re extremely thrilled to be moving to the Fox Sports Networks,” says host Jared Christie. “The show has a whole new look, feel and vibe to it that we think viewers are really going to like.”

The show now reaches more than 70 million homes each Sunday at 11:30 a.m. and Thursdays at 3:30 p.m. (all times local). Jared also says, “check your local listings for additional airings… some of the networks have been airing the episodes as many as five times a week.” For more information on Destination Polaris, including air times for the DragonFire X3 episode, videos, blogs and more, go to www.destinationpolaris.com/

“This is our third Project X and we have created something that is radically different than what you have come to expect from DragonFire,” adds marketing go-to guy, Chris Moore. “Be sure to tune into the show on Fox Sports this June to see the mystery unveiled.” If you can’t wait that long to Feel The Heat, DragonFire will be releasing hints to their hardcore fans on their Facebook page www.facebook.com/DragonFireRacing and at their blog: http://blog.dragonfireracing.com/

New Navigator Bars & “Shallow” Steering Wheels Rolled Out!

MESA, AZ – March 4, 2013 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – Get a grip! DragonFire’s hottest accessories are all about keeping the pilot and co-pilot in touch with their RZR, both literally and figuratively. The new “Navigator Bar” was added to DragonFire’s updated quick-release steering wheel kit just in time to chart a new course this spring.

DragonFire-NavBar-Red1

“We have been pioneering quick-release steering wheels for a few years now, but we have made yet another breakthrough with our ‘Shallow’ wheel,” says DragonFire marketing man Chris Moore. “Our round suede steering wheel has been really popular with racers and recreationists alike, but the offset was a little too aggressive for taller drivers.” DragonFire has addressed this issue by offering the same steering wheel featuring all the benefits, including the high-tactile suede wrap, wheel indicator stripe, 6-lug bolt pattern and billet quick-release hub, but with a 2-inch shallower offset.

This new design makes for more cabin space and a better driving position for tall pilots. Speaking of spiffing up the cabin space, DragonFire’s Navigator bars are just the thing to keep co-drivers in their place! “Inspired by the motocross industry, our Navigator Bar kits make the ride much more comfortable when you are sitting shotgun,” adds Moore. “They have a much firmer ‘locked in place’ feel than the stock grab bars that rattle loosely in place, plus we have added a pro-style crossbar pad and top quality ProGrip grips imported from Italy.”

DragonFire-S6-Round

Nor has DragonFire forgotten the four-seaters.  “Our Junior Navigator bars are perfect for back seat drivers,” jokes Chris. “Make like Columbus and discover the new Navigator Bars and our ‘Shallow’ steering wheels,” Chris suggests. “Go to the website and see our full array of steering wheels to find out which one fits you and your ride: http://www.dragonfireracing.com/accessories-atv-utv.aspx

Discover The Entire Range Of RockSolid Trail Capable Components

MESA, AZ – February 11, 2013 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – Perhaps better known for their red hot racing components, DragonFire’s design team is charting an entirely new course for 2013. The entire RockSolid range is intended to make the RZR more trail capable, exploring a whole new direction for this Baja-winning business. Fans of the Destination Polaris TV show did get a sneak peek at some of the RockSolid products last season, but that was just kindling for the conflagration that is coming!

DFR_Xp4_RearView2_v2

“We have lit a fire under our designers and fabricators,” jokes DragonFire’s national sales manager Brice Ginn. “Our ‘engineered performance’ mandate has resulted in superior functionality and enhanced performance for every single RockSolid component.” Dealers attending the Dealer Expo tradeshow in Indianapolis this weekend will be the first to discover just how comprehensive the new adventure-oriented accessory line-up really is.

“There is everything from our proprietary ProSpec shocks by Elka to the removable LED dome light kits,” Brice adds. Some elements such as the RZR cage cover brackets, which were released as a holiday stocking stuffer, have already proven to be extremely popular, but there are still plenty of surprises in store in Indy. “Our RockSolid winch-capable front bumper, RZR hood saver kit, Jr. Navigator bars and several other brand new products should stand out at the trade show.”

Speaking of standing out, it was tough to miss DragonFire’s SafariRacks when they made their debut on the Project X RZR XP 4 900 on TV last season, especially when the high-intensity LED lights are cranked up. “Not to give away too many secrets, but the SafariRack is coming for two-seaters… honestly though, I think people will be overwhelmed by the integrated look of the RockSolid components when taken in their entirety,” says Ginn.

Dealers looking to discover the RockSolid profit center for thsemselves should stop by the DragonFire display, located in the Tucker Rocky Pavilion in the Indiana Convention Center February 15-17. Customers who can’t wait for the scoop from their dealer can also tune in to the Destination Polaris TV show this season or click on this video teaser from MotorcycleUSA for a preview:

Team DragonFire Ready to Bring the Heat!

25 01 2013

WORCS UTV Series Comes To The Dragon’s Lair

MESA, AZ – January 24, 2013 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – Although DragonFire has really been exploring new ground with its RockSolid line of extreme adventure accessories, the firm’s racing roots still continue to show, especially this weekend. Round 1 of the 2013 World Off Road Championship Series (WORCS) UTV racing is set to go off January 25-27th right in DragonFire’s backyard at Canyon MX Park in Peoria, Arizona.

DragonFire-Benson-Worcs

“It seems like the UTV racing season just ended, but we were getting cabin fever here at the Dragon’s Lair,” says Chris Moore, DragonFire’s marketing go-to guy. “We spent the off-season collaborating with Ken Benson on ways to make the Team DragonFire Class 1 racecar even better.” Speaking of better by design, DragonFire’s proprietary Vance & Hines exhaust and Pro-Spec shocks by Elka provided the perfect building blocks, according to Moore. Additional sponsors onboard for the 2013 season include CP pistons, Dirty Dawg Performance, Gates G-Force drive belts, HiPer wheels and ITP tires.

“Ken and our engineers have redefined ‘state-of-the-art’ with this RZR,” says Moore. “While it might sound cliché, we really do race what we sell and sell what we race, from DragonFire’s SFI-approved 5-point harnesses to our quick release steering wheel systems and RacePace bumpers.” Suffice to say, DragonFire plans to bring the heat to the competition at Canyon MX Park this weekend.

“We might have some other surprises in store as well, but you will have to see us at the track,” suggests Moore. Or for a sneak peek at the new WORCS racecar’s very first shakedown run

DragonFire’s Bright Idea

19 01 2013

Transportable & Removable LED Dome Light Kit For UTVs

MESA, AZ – January 18, 2013 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – Anyone who has ever been out in their UTV at night has noticed that it can get hard to see anything inside the cab. DragonFire’s bright idea was to create a dome light kit… of course in typical fashion, it was over-engineered from the start! High intensity LED bulbs and a stainless spring steel mounting bracket were just the starting point for this over-the-top lighting set-up.

DragonFire-Dome-Light-Kit

“Our LED Dome Light was designed to be as useful as possible while staying simple,” explains DragonFire’s marketing go-to guy, Chris Moore. “We developed a 304 stainless steel mounting basket that attaches to almost any 1½” -2” diameter cage tube. Low profile zip ties secure the mount to the cage tube with no need for welding or wrenches… again part of our design brief to keep things clean and simple.”

The light itself is battery powered, so there is no need to worry about trying to tie into the electrical system or run wiring throughout the cockpit. The multi-function LED light features a flood light top portion, side spot flashlight, magnetic backing and even a useful pop out hanging hook. The best part of this whole set-up is the light slides in and out of the mount with ease, making it not only a great dome light but also a portable hand held work light as well. This kit is a great inexpensive gift so don’t leave your friends, family or yourself in the dark again!

Features:

  • Mount made of 304 stainless steel
  • Simple zip-tie mounting system
  • Multi-function LED light
  • No wiring or welding required
  • Removable light doubles as a flashlight/work light
  • Low draw LEDs last a long time

DragonFire Rocks the Ultimate Stocking Stuffers

6 12 2012

RZR Bracket Covers Here For The Holidays

MESA, AZ  – December 5, 2012 – (Motor Sports Newswire) -  Seems like the first thing any serious RZR owner does is replace the stock belts with a 4-point harness. Great idea, unfortunately it does leave the stock seat belt mounting bracket sticking out on the cage where it seems to catch on everything and anything. That is where the new RZR Cage Bracket Covers* from DragonFire come into play.

121206-DragonFire-CageCover2“We have come up with these RZR Cage Bracket Covers to keep things from snagging or banging against the stock brackets after you have put in a competition-style harness,” explains DragonFire marketing guy Chris Moore. “Not only do you cover up an eyesore, you are also adding some padding to that jagged bracket.”

However, cutting the stock brackets off is not an option. “If you do bust out a die grinder and try to cut-off the original mounting hardware, you might as well be cutting up your warranty!” Moore suggests a much simpler solution, “instead of creating a weak spot in the stock cage, you can simply and effectively cover the brackets up.”

Constructed of a durable neoprene material, DragonFire’s RZR Bracket Covers feature internal 121206-DragonFire-CageCover3padding and are custom cut to be as clean looking as an OEM component. A simple Velcro® closure system makes it easy to remove them for washing, or should you ever wish to return to the stock belts.  “Conveniently sold in sets of two, a couple covers are much cheaper than buying a new cage,” concludes Moore. “These covers should be a no-brainer when installing aftermarket harnesses.”

Design features include:

  • Simple Velcro® installation
  • Removable & washable
  • Hides hideous looking stock mount
  • Constructed of top quality material with stitched edging for added durability

These make an ideal stocking stuffer for the good little RZR owners on your list. If you are running aftermarket restraints but retaining stock seats, be sure to check out DragonClaw harness strap retainers, too. You can see more of the DragonClaws and the RZR seat belt bracket covers at the DragonFire website: www.dragonfireracing.com — and while you are holiday shopping on the world wide web, be sure to “Like” DragonFire on Facebook.  *Patent Pending

DragonFire & RideNow Expand “Store in Store” Concept

20 11 2012

Ultimate UTV Display Coming To A Dealership Near You!

MESA, AZ – November 19, 2012 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – After a successful launch of their new “Store in Store” program this past Spring, DragonFire and RideNow have decided to expand the program. Essentially this was a way for dealers to better display DragonFire products so that the customer can see exactly what it is they are buying. A fully accessorized vehicle, combined with a freestanding display wall created a mini UTV center right on the dealers’ showroom floor.

“We started off with a pilot program in two Arizona dealerships — RideNow Chandler and RideNow Peoria,” explains DragonFire GM Dave Asher. “We expected this program to help create brand awareness, but honestly, we had no idea how well it would do in terms of actual product sales. When customers were able to see products physically installed on the UTV, sales have been greater than even our highest expectations going into the program!”

RideNow COO Bill Nash notes, “I agreed to test the concept in two stores to determine if the concept would be successful. As it turns out, the pilot program was overwhelmingly successful and we are now in the process of expanding it to several more of our RideNow family of dealerships. DragonFire’s ‘Store in Store’ program is here to stay!”

Nash adds, “The Store in Stores have not only increased our DragonFire accessory sales, but have actually increased unit sales as our customers can now virtually realize how their finished Side-x-Side can be enhanced and personalized. We are pleased and excited to see the success of the DragonFire program!”

Based on the success of the pilot program, DragonFire is proud to announce the addition of three more dealerships to the “Store in Store” program. “RideNow INA, RideNow Tucson and RideNow Surprise have all stepped up in a big way to bring the hottest aftermarket products to their customers,” adds Asher. “In addition to the custom displays, we built three of the trickest Polaris RZRs ever to grace a showroom floor as the focal point for each store!”

DragonFire believes you have to see our products to understand our passion. The “Store in Store” program and our friends at all the RideNow dealerships are making it easier than ever for our mutual customers to “Feel the Heat!”

New Running Mates Release No-Compromise RZR Exhaust System

MESA, AZ – November 6, 2012 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – Regardless of your political party affiliation, vote for a pair of proven winners with the new DragonFire By Vance & Hines exhaust system!  Now any RZR XP or XP 4 can win in a landslide, as two names synonymous with high performance have teamed up to offer the ultimate exhaust system.

“We went to Vance & Hines with a long list of what we were looking for in our new Dual Exhaust system,” says DragonFire marketing guy Chris Moore. “More power, increased torque, lighter weight, improved style and a low decibel rating… Vance & Hines took our list and not only met, but surpassed every expectation.”

The resulting system has been specifically designed to eliminate issues common with aftermarket pipes, as well as providing performance gains throughout the powerband. In this era of phony campaign promises, the DragonFire By V&H system delivers the goods… and has the power to prove it! “Heat is always a major concern, and V&H came up with a great solution,” adds Moore. “Canister-style heatshields front and rear prevent heat from becoming an issue while also functioning as a debris shield.”

A specially designed airbox heatshield protects the plastic components from the extreme temperatures generated by the head pipes and utilizes the OEM header heatshields to keep the cockpit and the pilot from overheating. However, it is power and sound that V&H has been known for after winning motorcycle races for more than 30 years. The free-flowing 2-into-1-into-2 design increases power throughout the entire RPM range. The crossover mid-pipe helps equalize back pressure to provide torque increases as well.

Since most RZRs don’t stay stock for long, there is an integrated O2 bung built into the crossover to facilitate the use of fuel-tuners. The deep throaty tone is aggressive, without being overly loud as this system only registers a couple decibels over the stock exhaust and well within sound limits at any off-road area in the country. Don’t take our word for it though, listen to the sound of a V&H equipped RZR XP 900 making high and low speed passes here:

“This performance did not come at the cost of compromising style,” notes Moore. “The system has a high and tight profile with OEM levels of fit and finish. Stainless steel construction, slash-cut exhaust tips and integrated USFS spark arrestors sit at the end of polished exhaust canisters make this one sharp looking system!”

Features of the DragonFire By V&H System include:

  • Increased performance throughout rpm range
  • Lighter than OEM exhaust
  • Meets USFS sound and spark arrestor specifications
  • Brushed finished stainless steel construction
  • Slash-cut outlet caps with quick change access to spark arrestors
  • 2-1-2 stainless steel collector
