RANCHO DOMINGUEZ, CA – October 3, 2012 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – Saddlemen swept the GNC podium on the way to landing 4 riders in the top 5 and 8 in the top 10 at the Santa Rosa Mile for Round 14 of the AMA Pro Flat Track series.

AMA Pro Harley-Davidson Insurance Grand National Championship
Sammy Halbert won his 4th race of the year as Saddlemen swept the podium at Santa Rosa. Fellow Saddlemen racer Bryan Smith nabbed the holeshot and led the pack for more than half the race, but Halbert pushed the pace and made a pass with just 5 laps remaining. Jared Mees fought his way from 13th up to finish in 2nd aboard his Saddlemen Flat Track seat, while Rob Pearson rounded out the top 5.

With the 2012 GNC Expert Singles title already under his belt, Jared Mees looks to defend his GNC Overall Championship with just two rounds of Flat Track remaining. Sammy Halbert is 14 points behind Mees, while Bryan Smith and Henry Wiles sit in 4th and 5th respectively. Halbert is just 9 points behind out of first in the GNC Expert standings while Smith, Mees and Jeffrey Carver round out the top 5.

AMA Pro Motorcycle-Superstore.com Pro Singles
While the Pro Singles class is anything but decided, Saddlemen racers struggled to add points to their season tallies at Santa Rosa, with just three riders competing in the main event. Jake Shoemaker led the way with a 4th place finish, while fellow Saddlemen riders Shayna Texter and James Monaco finished 8th and 10th, respectively.

With just two rounds remaining, the Pro Singles class is very much up for grabs as Shoemaker finds himself just 11 points behind the leader. Texter has put together a consistent season and moved up to 6th place this weekend, with a chance at cracking into the top 5. Monaco sits at 14th in the standings.

Saddlemen has been making high performance seats for racing for over 20 years. During that time some of the world’s fastest racers have fitted their motorcycles with Saddlemen seats, including land speed attempters, flat track racers and road racers. Saddlemen is the Official Seat of AMA Pro Racing.
