PowersportsU™ Reaches 500 “Likes” On Facebook

IRVINE, CA – March 14, 2013 – Proving once again that education is an ongoing process rather than a one-time event, PowersportsU™ has gone the social media route. In order to maintain an ongoing dialogue with its graduates, the interactive online training program at Powersports University has added a Facebook page. Even though the page is directed to dealership personnel and PSU grads, it has already surpassed 500 “Likes” on the popular social media channel.

In addition to the Performance Machine and Progressive Suspension modules Mike mentioned, PowersportsU’s roster of training courses currently includes Küryakyn, Mustang’s “Seats 101″ curriculum, Renthal and Vance & Hines. POWERSPORTSU™ Goes Viral PSU/EU Launches At INTERMOT Tradeshow

4 10 2012

Köln, Germany – October 4, 2012 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – PowersportsU is going viral! The big news at the INTERMOT tradeshow in Köln, Germany, is that PowersportsU is now in the EU!  Powersports industry personnel in Europe can now enroll in the same free online training offered by PSU that their dealership counterparts in the U.S. and Canada have enjoyed for the past two years. European students can now experience the effectiveness of access to interactive training 24/7.

“True e-learning knows no boundaries,” explains MAG Europe’s Managing Director, Robert Brinkmark. “The same underlying distance learning technology pioneered by PowersportsU in America functions equally well in the UK and the EU.” In fact, the same self-checks and other proven retention testing elements are incorporated into the EU versions of the classes, and Brinkmark adds that languages other than English are already being rolled out.

Coursework for global brands such as Küryakyn, Mustang Seats, Performance Machine, Progressive Suspension, Renthal and Vance & Hines is already available, and more is on the way. “PowersportsU’s online courses were created to help dealership staff become more knowledgeable in the areas of aftermarket exhausts, wheels, controls, seats, custom accessories and more,” says Brinkmark. To further sweeten the deal, PSU has initiated a special incentive program called “Earn As U Learn” to help dealership personnel earn promotional merchandise and product credits while they learn.

“Better still, PSU/EU education is FREE,” concludes Brinkmark. “We realize that it is a competitive environment, so we are trying to offer dealers the tools they need to win in business. The single best tool we can provide is ongoing education!”

Visit MAG Europe in Hall 9.1 Stand A031 and B032 at INTERMOT or see www.powersportsu.com for all the details on the PSU learning management system. PowersportsU Roadshow Rolls Into Parts Unlimited NVP & Points North

16 08 2012

IRVINE, CA – August 16, 2012 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – The PowersportsU™ summer roadshow wraps up as “The Prof” Eric Anderson travels to parts north for the Parts Unlimited NVP and then onto the WSMDA (Washington State Motorcycle Dealers Association) annual meeting right after that. The goal of these “Summer School” sessions is to solicit feedback directly from the distributor’s road reps and the dealership personnel attending these functions.

“They are all potential PSU students… it is my job to get them to enroll,” explains Anderson. “I also need to know what we can do to make PowersportsU’s online interactive e-learning curriculum better for existing graduates.” As Anderson always adds when he is in his lab coat regalia at these functions: “Education is an ongoing process, not a one-time event. Better still, PSU education is FREE.”

Course graduates not only benefit from access to online training 24/7, they can also score some swag via PSU’s “Earn As U Learn” program. Anderson is also quick to remind everyone attending these dealer events that PSU is developing even more coursework. “Look for DragonFire and then Roland Sands Design training coming soon… very soon!” Longer range, look for Vance & Hines FuelPak video electives and Xtreme Machine wheel training to round out the PowersportsU master’s degree program.

“True e-learning requires constant interaction with the information,” asserts Anderson. In addition to touching the information, self-checks and other retention testing elements are incorporated into the classes. “This is done to ensure that you can implement this training in your dealership for tangible results after you complete all three modules of a PSU course.”

If you are headed to the NVP or the WSMDA events, be sure to educate Professor Anderson as to what you would like to see upgraded for PSU 2.0. In the meantime, be sure to “Like” us on Facebook (www.facebook.com/PowersportsU) if you are serious about continuing your Powersports education.

PowersportsU And Renthal Introduce Video Elective Courses

18 07 2012

Time To Tune In To PSU!

IRVINE, CA – July 17, 2012 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – The pros at PowersportsU™ reiterate that proper education in the powersports profession is a continuing process, not a one time event. To that end, the standard PowersportsU curriculum is continuously being updated, including its own YouTube channel. In addition to video elective courses, several “how-to” video series have been posted, including the dialing in a Fuelpak system from Vance & Hines, shifters from DragonFire and a seat-install from Mustang.

Renthal has posted the latest videos at the PSU YouTube channel. Hosted by master technician Jay Clark, these self-contained segments feature installation of Renthal products and offer some insight as to how “Renthal Builds Championships.” Each video walks you through the entire installation process for several of Renthal’s top selling products. Clark adds his insights, which include many tips and tricks used by factory mechanics to give you the best result with the least amount of skinned knuckles!

There are seven Renthal videos posted to PowersportsU’s YouTube channel covering installation of 7/8″ Handlebars, Twinwall & Fatbar Handlebars, Grips, Chain & Sprockets, Brake Pads, Handguards and Intellilevers. And just like any good feature film, the Renthal installation videos are preceded by a short clip of 12-time world trials champ Dougie Lampkin touring the factory via motorcycle.

YOU EARNED YOUR STRIPES Wear Them With Pride!

15 06 2012

IRVINE, CA – June 15, 2012 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – June is time for Dads and Grads so it was the perfect opportunity for the Team at PowersportsU™ to announce its new “patch” program for all PSU graduates. Although there are no diplomas awarded by the school of hard knocks, at least now there is a way to show your certification as a Powersports University-trained brand professional. Any PSU graduate is entitled to wear these high-quality embroidered badges on their shop shirt.

“Think of them as a badge of honor,” says PowersportsU’s “Dean” Eric Anderson. “Since you can’t hang a ‘sheepskin’ on your shirt or display a diploma on the showroom floor, wearing your stripes demonstrates to the customer that you are an expert in the brand anywhere you happen to be in the dealership,” adds Anderson. “Plus it serves as a subtle reminder to your boss that you are actively engaged in expanding your expertise!”

Küryakyn Courses Go Live!

27 01 2012

Time For Dealers To Put Their Thinking Caps On At PowersportsU™

IRVINE, CA – January 27, 2012 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – Küryakyn has been the industry leader in improving and beautifying motorcycles for more years than most dealerships have been around. However, this proud history doesn’t mean they are mired in tradition… far from it! In addition to bringing more than 300 new products to market every year, Kürykyn is also the latest leading brand to go live with an interactive online training program at PowersportsU™ (www.PowersportsU.com).

Both Küryakyn and PowersportsU™ operate under the belief that education is an ongoing process rather than a one-time event. “But be warned, you will really have to put your thinking caps to earn your diploma from Küryakyn,” says sales manager Dan Gorowsky. “Because Küryakyn literally brings a new product to market every business day of  the year, there are four full courses in the latest PowersportsU™ learning program.”

Depending on your focus, you can opt for the Metric module or the V-Twin version of the educational track. The good news is that you still only have to pass three of the classes to graduate, “but you might want to earn a little extra credit with your customers by taking the second product course,” suggests Gorowsky. Instead of a mortarboard, part of the swag used as incentives to Küryakyn graduates is a vintage baseball cap.

In addition to the four new Küryakyn modules, PSU’s current roster of training courses includes Mustang Seats, Performance Machine, Progressive Suspension, Renthal and Vance & Hines. These programs also dovetail with brand‑specific, technically-oriented field training, conducted by Küryakyn at major events and rallies across the country.

PowersportsU™ is free to any user. To find out more and register, visit www.PowersportsU.com or if you will be attending the Dealernews International Powersports Dealer Expo in Indianapolis, stop by Booth #1627 to learn what else is new at PowersportsU™.

About Küryakyn —Küryakyn has been in the business of improving and beautifying motorcycles since before many of today’s riders “ran‘er through the gears” for the first time. Unlike a large segment of the industry, we’ve learned that the bandwagon usually doesn’t lead the parade. Each Küryakyn accessory is intended to look fantastic by itself, but is usually a member of a group of parts that combine to create a “look”. This allows each rider to add accessories a couple at a time, or go for the full complement all at once, without the end result looking like an arbitrary hodgepodge of parts that can leave you wondering if they were all supposed to go on the same bike. If you desire additional information, or have questions, we welcome your call or letter. Our well trained sales staff and technical department will be glad to assist you. At Küryakyn, ideas are born from a passion for motorcycles that spans 145 years of combined experience and active participation in the sport. Our ideas are products of creative minds that realize a motorcycle isn’t simply a means of transportation, but rather a representation of a person’s very identity. At Küryakyn we believe innovation is manufactured at the intersection of Performance and Style.
