Yoshimura R&D of America Announces 2012 KX250F RS-4 and RS-4D Applications

21 09 2011

CHINO, CA – September 19, 2011 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – The RS-4 muffler was developed in conjunction with the Factory Suzuki race team with one purpose in mind: winning championships. That goal was quickly accomplished during the 2010 AMA Supercross and Motocross seasons when Ryan Dungey and his Yoshimura-equipped RM-Z450 took the year by storm as the first rookie in the history of the sport to dominate both series.

The RS-4 is a unique design with predicated power, a side benefit of a quiet earthy exhaust note that speaks volumes for performance, and offers increased horsepower and torque. RS-4 systems are the choice of both the Factory Honda and Suzuki teams. The RS-4 is available as a full system, in either Titanium or Carbon Fiber, and comes with an ultra-lightweight carbon fiber end-cap.

The new RS-4D builds on the technology that has made the RS-4 a force to be reckoned with on the racetrack, enhancing its rock solid performance. The RS-4D boasts a unique dual-outlet design that increases the amount of open area at the exhaust outlet.  With dual internal baffles, the RS-4D increases the exhaust gas flow rate, resulting in smoother power delivery and increased throttle control, and offers increased horsepower and torque throughout the power curve, especially in the bottom to mid RPM range where riders need it most. The RS-4D is available as a full system, in either Titanium or Carbon Fiber, and comes with an ultra-lightweight carbon fiber end-cap.

Both the RS-4 and RS-4D has been used by both the Factory Honda and Factory Suzuki teams and is the system of choice for a number of the riders during the 2011 supercross and motocross seasons. RS-4 and RS-4D systems for the 2012 Kawasaki KX250F are now available.

Yoshimura R&D of America Announces More EPA Noise-Complaint High-Performance Exhaust System Applications

26 06 2011

CHINO, CA – June 23, 2011 – (Motor Sports Newswire)Yoshimura R&D of America, the leader in performance, has taken the lead once again with the introduction of their new EPA noise-compliant exhaust systems. Yoshimura has dedicated hours of research, development and extensive testing to bring you high-performance EPA noise-compliant exhaust systems available for a number of applications. These slip-on systems offer the craftsmanship, attention to detail, and high quality that Yoshimura has prided itself on for over fifty years. Slip-ons will be available in a number of configurations.

The R-77 is serious business when it comes to performance as it was designed with racetrack feedback from racers Tommy Hayden and Blake Young. The R-77’s trapezoidal shape allows a large volume of packing material and in turn delivers top performance. The R-77 muffler’s front cap is MIG-welded while the end cap is riveted using high-end 304-L polished stainless steel rivets and bands. You can get the muffler in stainless steel, titanium, or race-inspired carbon fiber. The R-77 EPA noise-compliant system comes as a slip-on muffler, which attaches simply onto the stock exhaust mounting slip-fit. The cone end caps come in either polished stainless steel or carbon fiber and the slip-on itself is mounted with a stainless steel mounting clamp.

The TRC exhaust is second to none! It’s a race-proven exhaust featuring a tri-oval design, trick cone shaped end cap, and an easily removable low-volume insert. The TRC has a straight baffle leading to that distinct cone-shaped end cap. The cap is available in stainless steel or carbon. The muffler choices are 304-L polished stainless steel, carbon fiber, or titanium. Both titanium and carbon fiber sleeves come with carbon fiber end caps for a truly sporty look. With an optional low-volume insert, the TRC also comes with a laser-etched heel guard that combines style and function. Available in either bolt-on or slip-on configuration, the TRC attaches simply onto the OEM (stock) exhaust mounting slip-fit or mounting flange. It’s also available on various full Yoshimura exhaust systems.
