The Yoshimura R&D backed GEICO squad went to Colorado looking for victory, and they delivered. Hometown golden boy, Eli Tomac, was all business on Saturday with Colorado fans cheering him on. 250MX Moto 1 saw a tough battle between he and the formidable Ken Roczen. Tomac had a last lap altercation, preventing him from taking the win. When the gate dropped on 250MX Moto 2, Eli got his second chance. With a clear opening in the lead and Roczen behind him, he was able to open up a commanding lead and a big win, much to the delight of Colorado fans. The final results declared Tomac as the overall winner. Teammate Zach Osborne nabbed the holeshot in Moto 1, and beat Roczen in Moto 2 to finish directly behind Tomac for second. GEICO rider Justin Bogle battled from the back in Moto 1, passing 7 riders for 13th. He finished a more fortunate 7th in Moto 2.

Consistent and fast; two words to describe Yoshimura backed Muscle Milk Honda riders Justin Barcia and Trey Canard. Nothing could stop these guys as they churned out top 5 results in both 450MX motos. Barcia showed his Yoshimura horsepower and came out swinging with back to back holeshots. He led the pack for nearly half of Moto 1. Bam Bam took to the podium with 3rd overall. Teammate Trey Canard finished the day with 4th.

Yoshimura Suzuki’s James Stewart showed serious determination. He suffered from a lackluster start in the first moto, only to get tangled up with a rider whom fell in front of him. He went to work, and made it up to 15th before the checkers. James’ second race went considerably better, as he was able to get out of the gate in the top 10, picking off 7 riders to finish the moto in 3rd. James was 7th overall in the 450MX class for the day.

Eli Tomac, from the West Coast GEICO squad, showed prolific speed in his main event, reeling in 1st place, and making the pass on Roczen near the halfway mark of the race. With the exception of a holeshot bobble, Tomac rode as solid as he had all year. In true Tomac style, he put his head down and went to work, blasting from 7th place to the front of the pack, where he would stand atop the podium in 1st. Just 3 points shy from becoming the 250SX West Champion. Teammate Zach Osborne ripped the holeshot in the East main, but pulled off early after an uninvited mishap cut his night short.

Hahn stayed within striking distance, and made the move when Musquin threw it away in a corner on a tuff block. Hahn showed amazing speed throughout the remainder of the race, knocking on Blake Wharton’s backdoor, as the battle for the lead ensued. But a close-call through the whoops, and a missed finish-line double, kept Hahn from ultimately overtaking Wharton.
